On Saturday Jan and I went out to Shanahan’s for a wonderful Bon Voyage dinner. The waitress was very nice and started to tell us about the daily specials. The first thing she mentioned was a chicken dish. I stopped her and told her I was heading out to do a Camino and I would be getting plenty of chicken on my walk. I was not going to have chicken for my Bon Voyage dinner. I ordered a steak and I am afraid that this is the last beef I will see for the next 90 days. We had a great meal with excellent service.

I stopped by the next door neighbor’s house to say goodbye and get a blessing. Dave, my next door neighbor, is a minister and his blessing brought tears to my eyes. A couple of weeks ago I got a blessing from our parish priest so I am double blessed.
I am now out at the airport in Denver waiting for my flight. The forecast called for thunder and lightning and rain all afternoon and evening. So far the weather looks good and the flight appears to be on time.
I fly from Denver to London this evening. I am scheduled to arrive at Heathrow at 12:30 Monday afternoon. I will need to retrieve my bag, clear customs and catch my ride to Stanstead where I will take a 6:30 PM flight to Santander, Spain. I am scheduled to arrive in Santander at 9:30. I need to get to the alburgue in Santander before the 11:00 PM closing time.
I will meet Marco at the alburgue in Santander when I get there Monday evening. On Tuesday I need to pack my backpack and put the rest of my stuff in my suitcase. I will take my suitcase to the post office in Santander and they will ship it to the post office next to the cathedral in Santiago. I will pick up this suitcase when we arrive in Santiago.

Abe is on the backpack and is ready to start our Camino.
That’s it for today. Wish me luck on my journey to Santander.
First of many what I’m certain will be amazing, informative, and entertaining entries. Bon Voyage and may Mother Nature cooperate on this second extraordinary journey.
